How It Happened
- Davidson buried a shot from beyond the arc with 14:44 on the clock in the opening half to give Bloomfield a 13-9 advantage as the teams jockeyed for position to begin the evening. Caldwell clawed their way back to tie the score at 27-27 over the next seven minutes
- The teams continued the see-saw battle through the period with the Cougars going up by four (36-32) only to watch Bloomfield respond with seven straight to enjoy a 39-36 advantage with 1:40 remaining until the break. The visitors settled in for a 42-38 lead at halftime and headed into the locker room with Kelly posting 10 points and 5 boards to pace the Bears
- Bloomfield scored on their first four possessions of the 2nd half and quickly extended the lead to, 50-40 that prompted the Cougars to call a timeout to regroup. The Bears refused to let up and kept the home team at a 10-point disadvantage thru the midway point of the frame.
- Caldwell scored five straight points and seized some momentum with just under nine minutes to play but senior guard, Ahmid Williams (Monroe, N.J.) drilled a three-pointer that returned the Cougars to a 66-56 hole. The home squad refused to go away and responded with a 7-1 spurt but another three-ball from Williams quieted the crowd and temporarily halted the run
- Caldwell made one last push for the upset win and pulled within one (73-74) as 2:39 showed on the clock but Diez responded with a long range three on the Bears very next possession and Bloomfield held on for the thrilling North Division victory
Up Next: The Bears will continue their four game road trip on Saturday when they travel to Lakewood, N.J. to face Georgian Court University. Game time is slated for a 3:00 pm tip off for the CACC inter-divisional battle.
