How It Happened
- The Bears had it rough straight off the bus as they surrendered the games first eight points to the Devils in the first quarter of play. Zhane Robinson (Newark, N.J.) ended the drought for the visitors with a jumper but the damage had already been done and Bloomfield fell behind 21-10 by the end of the period
- The second quarter didn't get any easier for the CACC North Division squad with the offense only producing eight total points. Tianna Smith (Spring Valley, N.Y.) led the way at the halftime break as she went 4-of-6 from the field for 8 points
- The Bloomfield offense shot just 29.6 percent (8-of-27) from the floor during the first two quarters including 0-for-7 from beyond the arc. USciences cruised into the locker rooms with a 33-18 advantage
- The third stanza didn't provide much relief for the Bears either as the home team answered each attempt to claw back into the game with a rally of their own. Freshman Jordynn Jones (Allentown, Pa.) knocked in 'Coach Cap' squad's first three-pointer of the day at the 1:25 minute mark of the third quarter and the CACC South Division leader went in the final period up, 49-31
- Senior guard Morgan Taylor (Paterson, N.J.) buried two trey-balls in the fourth quarter but the game had already been decided and Bloomfield's five-game unbeaten streak in league match ups was snapped by the Devils
Up Next: Bloomfield will return to the friendly confines of The Den to host the Wildcats from Wilmington University on Tuesday. The Bears will look to restore their offensive firepower and get back in the win column when the teams square off at 5:30 pm in CACC action.
