PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Bloomfield College volleyball team secured the #4 seed in the North Division of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) and faced the South Division's #1 seeded Jefferson Rams Tuesday evening but fell in straight sets of 25-17, 25-19 and 25-10. The Quarterfinal Round match up at the Gallagher Center in Philadelphia marked the fourth consecutive year the Bears earned a trip to post-season play.
Freshman,
Junelly Marrero (Cantano, PR) registered 16 assists on the evening while to lead Bloomfield while
Danielle Quintanar (El Paso, TX) led the team with 9 kills.
Delanie Cruz (Chicago, IL) recorded 11 digs and two assists, and
Ashley Stroot (Rolesville, NC) had three blocks at the net.
The Bears under first year head coach, James Pompeo started the season, 4-0 in CACC play and held on down the stretch to claim a playoff spot in 2017. Without a true senior on the team, Coach Pompeo will look to build upon this year's experience and have his team ready to contend again next season.
