How It Happened
- 1st inning – Acosta delivered everything and more of what Coach Watson could of expected from his junior pitcher. Acosta threw eight spectacular innings, only giving up two earned runs while striking out two. The Bears hurler managed to keep the ball low and accumulated an impressive 10 groundouts from the Molloy hitters. After a brilliant outing from the Bloomfield starter, it was Sanchez's job to close it out the game and he threw a perfect ninth inning, striking out two to pick up the save.
- 6th inning – The Bear's offense waited for the second half of the game to come alive. A Harry Montero (Millville, N.J.) RBI single that scored Ramger Iglesias (Bronx, N.Y.) may have been the only run of the inning, but it was just a precursor of what was to come in the seventh.
- 7th inning – The Bears ensured victory with a four-run seventh inning. After a Molloy wild pitch that scored Jonathan Carratala (Hialeah, Fla.), Thomas sent the ball for a ride over the fence as his solo shot gave Bloomfield their first lead (4-3) of the day. Juan Reina was not satisfied with a two run inning so he took matters into his own hands with an RBI single that brought in both Anthony Lantigua (Belleville, N.J.) and Iglesias.
Up Next: The Bears finish their Florida trip with a double header against Southern New Hampshire University tomorrow.
