LANTANA, FLA. – The Bears baseball team was swept by the 11
th-ranked, Penmen of Southern New Hampshire University on the last day of their Spring Break trip in Florida. Bloomfield played the nationally ranked squad tough in game one, falling 4-3 but the Penmen flexed their offense in game two and took an 8-1 victory.
In Game 2, the Bears only run came from a groundout by
Azmir Garcia (Passaic, N.J.) that allowed
Cristopher Cabral (Lodi, N.J.) to score.
Mike Hidalgo (Clifton, N.J.), who relived starting pitcher
Christian Camillo (Lyndhurst, N.J.), had a solid performance only giving up two runs in three innings pitched.

How It Happened
- 1st inning – Camillo, who earned his first college career win earlier in the week, struggled in his second appearance of the year. In the outing, Camillo gave up six runs in four innings, while striking out two and only walked one. After Hidalgo relived Camilo, Daniel Helena (Camden, N.J.) pitched two and a thirds, giving up no runs.
- 5th inning – The Bears offense produced one run on a groundout by Garcia. Bloomfield was only able to tally three hits while leaving four runners on base.
Up Next: Weather permitting, the Bears are slated to face the University of New Haven on Wednesday. The non-conference road battle is scheduled for 3:00 pm. Bloomfield is slated to play their home opener on Friday when the Cougars of Caldwell University travel down Bloomfield Ave to tango in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action.
