How It Happened
- 1st inning – Anthony Maldonado (Newark, N.J.) got his second start of the season on the mound and gave up just one hit across the first three innings of play. The sophomore hurler stranded three Pace runners on base throughout the first third of the game
- 2nd inning - The Bears lone bright spot of the day came on a laser from Pichardo's bat to left-center and the visitors where on the board first for the second day in a row
- 4th inning – The Pacesetters finally got to Maldonado in the fourth, scoring three runs on four hits including three consecutive doubles with two outs to take the lead and control of the game. The Bloomfield righty ended the inning with two runners left on base but the damage had already been done
- 5th inning – Maldonado came out and retired the side in the fifth but then gave way to the Bears bullpen from the 6th inning on and Pace took advantage for 7 more runs the rest of the way
Up Next: The Bears are scheduled to play LIU Post Saturday afternoon on the road but impeding weather conditions will be the deciding factor in the doubleheader's noon start time. Check back for more information and updates on Saturday's battle.
