BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Bears women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision Tuesday afternoon on the road to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival, Concordia College. The loss became Bloomfield's second straight in CACC battles and moved their record to 1-3 overall, winless (0-3) in league play.
 
The teams were deadlocked at the break, 0-0 as they searched for ways to put the ball in the net. The Clippers held a 14-5 advantage in first half shots and a 3-0 edge in corner kicks.
 
The home team broke the tie in the 61^st minute of the second half on a pass up the middle from Miranda Merino that Amanda Astudillo slipped by Jessica Larson (Delran, NJ) for a 1-0 lead. Bloomfield wasted no time finding the equalizer less than a minute later off a header from Bridgid Dwyer (Brick, NJ). Lisa Parello (Staten Island, NY) crossed a ball from the corner endline and Dwyer headed it into the net for her first collegiate goal for the Bears.
 
Concordia (1-3, 1-1 CACC) scored the go-ahead goal at the 74:09 minute mark on a one-timer from the top of the box by Sara Calvert and the home team secured the conference win. Larson finished her day with six saves pushing her season total up to twenty-two for the Bears.
 
Bloomfield will return to Foley Field to prepare for their next battle this Saturday when Wilmington University comes to town. The CACC thriller is slated to begin at 1:30 pm against the Wildcats.
