BLOOMFIELD, NJ– After a disappointing five-set loss back on September 11, the Bears women's volleyball team eagerly awaited another chance to face Dominican College and took full advantage of it Wednesday evening pulling off a, 3-0 sweep of the Chargers at The Den. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory improved Bloomfield to 4-9 in league play while the visitors fell to 3-11.
Freshmen
Destiny King (Williamstown, NJ) came up big with 7 kills and 2 blocks while junior,
Danielle Quintanar (El Paso, TX) registered a team-high 8 kills to go along with 6 digs and 5 service aces.
Juliette Tygret (Gilbert, AZ) stepped up and paced the offense with 27 assists and libero,
Junelly Marrero (Cantano, Puerto Rico) chipped in 12 digs.
The Bears came out red-hot and roared to a 25-13 win in Set 1 and never looked back. Set 2 was a 25-20 win followed by 25-19 in Set 3 to complete the sweep.
Bloomfield continues to keep their post-season hopes alive when they travel down the road to face Felician University on Saturday. The CACC test at Job Gymnasium against the Golden Falcons is set for a 1:00 pm first serve.
