KING HELPS BEARS SAIL PAST CLIPPERS, 3-1 ON CACC ROAD TRIP

BRONXVILLE, NY– The Bloomfield College women's volleyball team have solidified their first winning streak of 2018 after a, 3-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) win over Concordia College Wednesday evening.  The Bears captured their 3rdstraight victory, improving to 3-17 overall and 3-6 in league play after the Meyer Athletic Center victory.

The Clippers (0-12, 0-10 CACC) opened up the match strong with a 25-18 win in Set 1. The Bears clawed back with, 25-15 and 25-17 victories in Set 2 and Set 3 before sealing the win-streak with a 25-21 hard fought win in Set 4.

Freshmen Destiny King (Williamstown, NJ) stepped up with 12 kills to lead the Bears and added a career-high 5 blocks against the Clippers. King finished the game with a .556 hitting percentage. The CACC Setter of the Week, Laityn Sarna (Las Vegas, NV) paced the visitors offensive attack with 34 assists on the evening and one service ace. Sophomore libero, Junelly Marrero (Cantano, Puerto Rico) led the defense recording 24 digs followed by Danielle Quintanar (El Paso, TX) who tallied 13 digs and tied Ashley Stroot (Rolesville, NC) with four blocks each.

Bloomfield will now set their sights on the Tigers from Holy Family for more CACC action on Saturday. The red-hot Tigers come into The Den riding a six-game winning streak and are set to square off with the Bears at noon.
