Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

BEARS FALL, 76-45 ON DAY ONE OF AIC HOLIDAY TOURNAMENT

SPRINGFIELD, MASS– Bloomfield College women's basketball traveled to American International College (AIC) to play in the Yellow Jackets annual Holiday Tournament and dropped a, 76-45 decision in non-conference action. The regional setback left the Bears with a 1-7 overall record while the tournament hosts improved to 5-5 on the year.

The Bloomfield offense continued to struggle as they fell short of 50 points for the fifth time this season. The visitors shot just 30.9 percent from the field, including a dismal 2-of-11 (18.2 percent) from beyond the arc. The home team out-rebounded the Bears by a, 43-32 margin and forced 23 turnovers.

Freshman guard, Caitlyn Townes (Newark, NJ) led the way with 9 points as the Bloomfield offense failed to produce a double-digit scorer for the first time this year. Senior, Deja McKenzie (Baltimore, MD) grabbed six boards and added seven points to the visitors' totals.

Next up, on Day 2 of the Holiday AIC Tournament, Bloomfield will play a non-conference game against The College Of Saint Rose. Tip-Off for Sunday's game in Springfield is set for 3:30 pm.
