FLUSHING, NY– The Bloomfield College Bears baseball team traveled across the Hudson River to square off with the Knights of Queens College and were shutout, 5-0 in a non-conference battle Thursday afternoon. The setback left the visitors at 5-5-1 on the season while the home team improved to 3-6 on the year.
 
The Knights got on the board first in the 2^ndinning on an RBI single through the left side off of the Bloomfield starter, Christian Camilo (Lyndhurst, NJ). Camilo pitched five innings and gave up three earned runs on six hits and struck out four as he fell to 0-2 in 2018. 
 
The Bears could not find an offensive groove as they scattered four hits during the game, with Khalid Legette (Teaneck, NJ) adding a stolen base in the 8^thinning. The Queens' pitchers struck out five Bloomfield batters en-route to their shutout victory.
 
The Bears look to get back on the winning track Saturday when they play their home-opener at West Side Park against USciences. The visiting Devils are scheduled for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double-dip in Newark with the first pitch slated for 12:00 PM.
