MILLERSVILLE, Pa - Former Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Rookie of the year,
Regsan Watkins (Cape Town, South Africa) scored two goals during the Bears second game of the season but it was not enough as Millersville University got the decision, 4-2 Wednesday evening at Pucillo Field.
The Marauders (2-1) used a strong three-goal first half to put Bloomfield in a hole that proved to be to much to overcome and dropped the visitors to 0-2 on the early season. Freshman goalkeeper,
Robert Kornel (Berlin, Germany) gave up a goal in the 3rd minute of play off a set piece on a free kick at the top of the box and Millersville was on the board. The Bears keeper face six shots in the opening frame while his team only managed three shots of their own before the break.
Watkins scored his first goal of the 2018 campaign on a penalty kick at the 58:23 mark of the second period to pull Bloomfield to within two goals, 3-1. The home team retook a three-goal advantage in the 65th minute of play before Watkins closed out the scoring on the day with a score that just cleared the goal line behind the Marauders' keeper.
The Bears will be back in action this Saturday with their third consecutive road battle when they play against Chestnut Hill College. The CACC opener is set for a 3:00 pm start from Philadelphia, Pa.
