YELLOW JACKETS CONSTANT ATTACK STINGS BEARS IN, 2-0 SETBACK AT FOLEY

BLOOMFIELD, NJ– The Bloomfield College women's soccer team suffered a, 2-0 setback at Foley Field Wednesday evening against American International College (AIC). The non-conference match-up dropped the Bears record to 1-2 in 2018 while the Yellow Jackets improved to 2-1.

Senior goalkeeper, Jessica Larson (Delran, NJ) had her first start of the season and made seven saves for the home team but Bloomfield couldn't find a groove on offense and managed only three shots for the entire game. The Bears backline of CACC Defensive Player of the Week, Ciara Alston (Carteret, NJ) and Malinda Heffernan (Staten Island, NJ) along with Larson kept AIC off the scoreboard in the 1sthalf despite facing 10 shots.

The visitors broke through in the second period during the 68thand 73rdminutes to seal the shutout road win. The constant pressure of the Yellow Jackets attack finally yielded benefits as they held a 22-3 advantage in shots and an 8-1 edge in corner kicks for the game.

The Bears are now set to begin conference play and head on the road to face the Griffins of Chestnut Hill College. The Saturday CACC showdown is set for a 1:00 pm start at CHC Campus Field.
