PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Bloomfield College women's soccer team hit the road Saturday afternoon for their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opener and fell, 2-0 to Chestnut Hill College. The shutout setback dropped the Bears to 0-1 in conference play and 1-3 overall while the Griffins improved to 2-1 and 1-0 in league games.
The league opponents played to a scoreless tie at the break with Bloomfield holding a narrow, 7-5 advantage in shots during the opening period. The Griffins took over in the second frame and scored off deflections past the visitor's keeper,

Chestnut Hill's keeper preserved the shutout with 10 saves for the game.
Lisa Parello (Staten Island, NY),
Ciara Alston (Carteret, NJ),
Brigid Dwyer (Brick, NJ) and
Imani Young (Berlin, NJ) each had two shots on goal for Bloomfield who finished the day with an 11-8 edge in shots on target.
The Bears return home for their next contest on Wednesday, September 12 when NYIT comes to Foley Field. The non-conference 'Battle of the Bears' is set for a 7:00 pm start.
