RUTHERFORD, NJ– The women's basketball team took a trip to Felician University on Wednesday evening for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division test at Job Gymnasium. The Bears suffered a, 64-47 decision against the Golden Falcons and moved to 3-13 overall and 2-5 in league action.
The visitors jumped in front with a 15-8 opening quarter.
Deja McKenzie (Baltimore, MD) led the way with 8 points in the first frame while
Caitlin Townes (Newark, NJ) snagged 4 boards on the defensive glass. The Bloomfield offense went cold in the second quarter, posting just one field goal and the Golden Falcons secured a 28-17 advantage at the break.
Felician grew their lead to twenty (44-24) with just under two minutes to play in the 3rd quarter. The home team pushed to a, 49-28 advantage by the end of the period and then cruised in the final frame for their fourth CACC win.
McKenzie finished the evening with a double-double, scoring 18 points and grabbing 11 rebounds while Townes poured in 15 points to go along with 7 boards.
Bloomfield returns home to face Goldey-Beacom College in a CACC battle Saturday afternoon. The Lightning visit 'The Den' on January 19th for a 1:00 pm tip-off.
