BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bears men's basketball team used the third consecutive double-double from senior guard, Keith Washington (Philadelphia, PA) to lift them to a, 98-89 victory over Goldey-Beacom in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action Tuesday evening. Washington dished out 10 assists and netted 13 points to help improve the home team's conference record to 7-1 and 9-8 overall.
 
The Lightning, who dropped to 6-2 in CACC play and 8-9 overall, fell behind in the first half as Bloomfield shot 48.6 percent from the floor including a scorching 8-for-15 from beyond the arc. The home squad enjoyed a, 44-34 advantage at halftime with Kavione Green (Amityville, NY) leading the charge with 18 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the floor including a perfect, 3-of-3 from long range.
 
A Green layup extended the Bears largest lead of the afternoon to twenty-one (80-59) with a little over ten minutes to play in the 2nd. The Lightning made a push late in the game but couldn't get closer than nine down the stretch and ultimately suffered their second CACC setback.
 
Bloomfield posted six players in double figures as Green ended the day with 29 points followed by Rich Chapman (Newark, NJ) who rained in 17 points. Washington's 13 points and 10 assists were middle of the pack, with Dontay Julius (Linden, NJ) coming off the bench to chip in 12. Starters, Tariq McKenith (Newark, NJ) and Matt Lajeunesse (Union, NJ) each recorded 11 points. 
 
The Bears hit the road for a huge Tuesday evening CACC showdown with Dominican College. The Chargers put their unbeaten league record on the line when they tip-off with Bloomfield at 7:30pm on Coach Baxter Court.
