ORANGEBURG, NY– The Bloomfield College men's basketball team took on Dominican College in a Tuesday night Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) overtime thriller and suffered a, 91-84 setback. The battle on Coach Baxter Court left the Bears with a 7-2 record in league contests and evened them off at 9-9 overall. The Chargers remained unbeaten in conference play with an 8-0 mark and improved to 13-3 overall.
The home team enjoyed a 40-34 lead at the halftime intermission but Bloomfield erased their deficit and knotted the game at 77-77 to force overtime. The Chargers never trailed in the extra period and converted free throws down the stretch to secure sole possession of first place in the CACC North Division
The CACC Player of the Week,
Kavione Green (Amityville, NY) scored a game-high 29 points on 10-of-23 shooting from the field.
Rich Chapman (Newark, NJ) notched a double-double on the night with 16 points and 10 rebounds followed by
Dontay Julius (Linden, NJ) who dropped in 13 points off the bench.
The Bears will return to CACC play on Saturday when they travel for yet another road trip, this time to Georgian Court University. The Lions roll out the welcome mat for a 3:00 pm scheduled tip in Lakewood.
