Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

LED BY FLOYD, BEARS BENCH FUELS, 64-50 CACC WIN OVER CONCORDIA

BLOOMFIELD, NJ- Bloomfield College women's basketball kicked off 2019 with Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action at The Den Wednesday evening and scored a, 64-50 win over visiting Concordia College. The Bears bench outscored the Clippers' bench, 46-0 and was led by senior, Bobbi Floyd (Las Vegas, NV) who shot 8-of-11 from the floor.
 
Bloomfield captured their first CACC win of the season and improved to 1-2 in league play and 2-10 overall. Concordia dropped to 2-10 overall and 0-3 in conference contests after the setback.
 
The visitors took a slim, 12-11 lead after the opening quarter and then stretched their advantage to four (32-28) by halftime as the Bears looked for continuity on offense. Both teams converted at least 40.0 percent of their shots across the first two quarters but the Clippers shot 50.0 percent from beyond the arc to claim their slight edge.
 
Bloomfield emerged from the locker room determined and tied the game at, 35-35 with 4:43 to go in the third quarter. A layup in the paint ended the home team's scoring in the frame and the Bears found themselves up, 43-42 heading into the fourth. With momentum on their side, Bloomfield produced a, 21-8 final quarter to seal their first CACC win of the season.
 
Floyd, finished the game with 22 points and her classmate, Deja McKenzie (Baltimore, MD) poured in 15 points on 6-for-11 shooting from the field. Freshman, Sydnei Alleyne (Brooklyn, NY) had her best day as a Bear, netting 10 points to round out Bloomfield's top-scorers.
 
Another CACC challenge awaits the Bears on Saturday when they hit the road to face the No.1 ranked team in the east region, USciences. The Devils, who are currently 7thin the nation in NCAA Div II women's basketbal, will roll out the welcome mat for a 1:00 pm showdown with Bloomfield.
