BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bloomfield College Bears women's basketball team bounced back with a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory Tuesday evening over visiting, Post University. The home team used a double-double from senior forward,
Bobbi Floyd (Las Vegas, NV) to pull out a, 60-57 decision against the Eagles at The Den.
The league win improved the Bears to 3-11 overall and 2-3 in conference play while Post fell to 6-7 overall with a 3-3 mark in the CACC.
The visitors squeezed out a, 32-31 lead by the halftime intermission but Bloomfield senior,
Deja McKenzie (Baltimore, MD) registered 13 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the floor. Floyd chipped in 9 points over the first two quarters of the game, however she put in the bulk of her work after the teams returned from the locker rooms.
The home team used a 14-9 fourth quarter to overtake the Eagles as Floyd finished up her day with team-highs of 22 points and 14 rebounds. McKenzie ended the contest with 16 points and 7 rebounds.
Next on the slate for the Bears, they head back to the 'City of Brotherly Love' for a Saturday CACC showdown, this time against Chestnut Hill. The battle with the Griffins is set for a 1:00 pm tip-off.
