PHILADELPHIA, PA– Bloomfield College women's basketball travelled to Chestnut Hill College to play in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference inter-divisional match on Saturday and fell, 77-59 at Sorgenti Arena. The Bears dropped to 2-4 in league play and 3-12 overall while the home team scored their first win in CACC play (1-5) and improved to 3-11 on the year.
 
A poor offensive performance in the first two quarters dug a huge hole for the visitors as they converted just 19.4 percent of their shots (7-of-36) including 2-of-11 from three-point range. Chestnut Hill on the other hand torched the nets at a 55.6 percent clip (15-27) including 5-of-9 from long range. The home team enjoyed a, 40-16 advantage at the break and never looked back, soaring to their first CACC victory.
 
Senior forward, Deja McKenzie (Baltimore, MD) knocked in a game-high 18 points and grabbed six boards for the Bears followed by freshman guard, Jaylah Bennett (Newark, NJ) who chipped in 13. 
 
Next up, Bloomfield will take a short trip to Felician University on Wednesday to continue CACC play. The tango with the Golden Falcons is set for a 5:30 pm start time.
