BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bloomfield College men's basketball team pulled off an early-season upset Wednesday evening at The Den when they defeated Saint Anselm College, 75-67. The Hawks entered the contest nationally ranked 14^thby both the D2SIDA and NABC, suffered their first loss of the season, falling to 3-1 while the Bears improved to 3-1 and perfect record (3-0) against Northeast 10 opponents this year.
 
Bloomfield senior forward, Matt Lajeunesse (Union, NJ) recorded his fourth straight double-double, registering a modest 11 points to go along with 11 rebounds, all on the defensive glass. Offensively Bloomfield saw their junior transfer forward, Darin Bellinger (Stroudsburg, PA) tickle the net for 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field which included 5-of-8 from beyond the arc.
 
A career-high, 29 points from senior, Safee Abdus-Sabur (Newark, NJ) topped all point-getters for the night and kept the home team in front down the stretch. Bloomfield shot 42.4 percent (25-of-59) from the floor while going 13-for-28 (46.4 percent) from beyond the 3-point line. 
 
The Bears next contest will be a road trip on Saturday, November 23 to Molloy College. Bloomfield will tip-off with the Lions at 2:00 pm.
