BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bears men's basketball team continued their winning streak against NE10 opponents this season with a 78-68 victory over visiting Franklin Pierce University Saturday afternoon. The non-conference win in The Den moved Bloomfield above .500 on the year to 6-5 while the Ravens fell to 6-5 after the setback.
Senior guard, Safee Abdus-Sabur (Newark, NJ) led all scorers with 19 points as he converted 14 second half points that pushed the home team ahead for good. Tariq McKenith (Newark, NJ) had a career-high 16 points, going 7-of-9 from the field and Rich Chapman (Newark, NJ) rounded out the Bears double-digit scorers with a modest 11 points on 5-of-17 shooting from the floor. Matt Lajeunesse (Union, NJ) snagged a game-high 14 rebounds and added 7 points in the win.
Bloomfield turns around for another CACC/NE10 matchup tomorrow to conclude their games in 2019. The Falcons of Bentley University step into The Den for a rare Sunday showdown at 1:00 pm.
