BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bloomfield College men's basketball team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) battle against nationally ranked, Dominican College Saturday afternoon 96-55. The setback moved the Bears record to an even 4-4 overall and 1-1 in league contest while the 21st ranked Chargers improved to 8-1 on the year and 1-1 in conference play.
The Den was electric as the two-teams met for the first time since their showdown in the CACC Tournament Championship game back in March of this year. Interestingly, the Bears offense produced the same point-output (55) as they did in the Championship Final and the lowest of this season.
Bloomfield shot just 30.3 percent from the field in the first half, converting 10-of-33 shots for 23 points. The 2nd half improved slightly with a 12-of-34 shooting performance (35.3 percent) but the Bears had no real answers for the NABC ranked team who finished the day shooting 53.8 percent from the field (35-of-65).
The Bears take some time off for Finals week and return to the court next Saturday for another CACC contest against Caldwell University. The Cougars stop by The Den for a 3:00 pm tip-off on December 14th.
