BLOOMFIELD, NJ– It was a tight game between the Bloomfield College men's basketball team and the Felician University Golden Falcons at the Den Tuesday night. The Bears pulled out a, 108-98 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) win and rose to 10-2 in league play while improving to 12-9 overall.
Bloomfield started strong against the Golden Falcons (8-10, 6-5 CACC) and enjoyed a first half lead, 49-43. The Bears dominated on the glass, out-rebounding their guests, 35-21 in the opening stanza led by
Rich Chapman (Newark, NJ) who snagged 8 boards. Junior guard
Dontay Julius (Linden, NJ) was lights out in the first frame, dropping 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field.
The Linden native went on to post a career-high 32 points for the night, draining 12-of-17 to lead his team to victory. Chapman was close behind with his best performance as a Bear, securing a career-high double-double of 29 points and 12 rebounds. Senior
Kavione Green (Amityville, NY) registered his team-leading 8
thdouble-double, snagging 15 boards to go along with 11 points. Classmate
Keith Washington (Philadelphia, PA) poured in a modest 26 points as Bloomfield kept the Golden Falcons at a distance for much of the final half of play.
The next game for the Bears will be held in 'The City of Brotherly Love' against the Holy Family University Tigers. The two CACC teams will battle it out Saturday, February 9
that 3:00 pm.
