LATE DAGGER LIFTS BEARS OVER TIGERS ON THE ROAD, 85-82

PHILADELPHIA, PA– The Bloomfield College men's basketball team crossed state lines Saturday afternoon for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) inter-divisional match up against Holy Family University and captured their fourth consecutive league win. The, 85-82 setback in the 'City of Brotherly Love' dropped the home team to 11-9 overall and a 7-6 conference mark. 
 
The Bears (13-9, 11-2 CACC) were behind at the conclusion of the first half, 46-45 with red-shirt freshman, Rich Chapman (Newark, NJ) leading the offensive charge, dropping 17 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field. Philadelphia native, Keith Washington (Philadelphia, PA) poured in 11 points before the teams headed into the locker rooms as the tandem accounted for over 50.0 percent of the visitor's total points.
 
Despite the one-point deficit to start the 2ndhalf, Bloomfield reeled off a 17-6 rally to climb in front, 62-52 in The Campus Center Gymnasium. The Tigers clawed back to within one (71-70) with 6:04 remaining on the clock but a Dontay Julius (Linden, NJ) three-pointer gave the visitors some breathing room. Holy Family still had life and tied the game at, 82-82 with 22 seconds remaining on the clock but Chapman buried a dagger from deep to seal the CACC victory.
 
Chapman finished the day with his fifth double-double of the season, snagging a career-high, 13 rebounds to compliment his 20 points, 2 steals and 2 blocks. Junior forward, Matt Lajeunesse (Union, NJ) posted his 6th double-double of the year, going 6-of-10 from the floor for 16 points and grabbed 14 boards including 9 on the defensive glass. Julius scorched the Tigers for 15 points as the Bloomfield starting-five all scored in double-figures including Washington's 14 points and Kavione Green (Amityville, NY) who netted 17 points and 8 rebounds.

Bloomfield, will take their win-streak back on the road for a Wednesday evening battle with the Warriors on Feb 13. Nyack College hosts the Bears with a scheduled 7:30 pm start time.
