BOCA RATON, FL -The Bloomfield Bears travelled to the Sunshine State for their annual Spring Break trip that began with a game against the Stonehill College Skyhawks. After 7 innings, the Bears' walked away on the wrong side of a, 17-4 loss. The setback dropped Bloomfield to 0-4 on the year while the Skyhawks improved to 6-4 after the non-conference win.
On the pitcher's mound, sophomore hurler Anthony Elefante (Forked River, NJ) recorded his second loss of the year, (0-2). After four-and a-third innings,  Elefanti gave up 11 earned runs on 13 hits while striking out five batters. Junior outfielder, Darwin Tavarez (Garfield, NJ) went 2-for-3 from the plate, scoring a run and driving in a run. Freshmen Tyree Bradley (West Orange, NJ) and Elvis Lopez (Randolph, NJ) each went 1-for-3 on the day.
Concordia College will be the next opponent for the Bears on their Spring Break trip. The Clippers are set for a Wednesday afternoon non-conference start on March 6 in West Palm.
