BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The women's basketball team suffered an 82-41 setback at the hands of nationally ranked USciences on Saturday afternoon. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) loss in The Den dropped Bloomfield to 4-12 overall for the season and 3-4 in conference play. The 24th ranked team in the nation improved to 13-3, with a 6-1 mark in league contests.

The visitors controlled the game from the opening tip and ran out to a 25-9 advantage in the first quarter. By the halftime break, the Devils secured a 42-14 lead as the Bears struggled to find an offensive rhythm. USciences finished the game shooting 48.4 percent (31-of-64) from the field and out-rebounded the Bears 43-29.

Freshman guard, Kayla Sykes (Egg Harbor TWP, NJ) registered a team-high 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the floor. Alaisha Mumford (Jersey City, NJ) snagged a team-high seven rebounds to go along with five points, four steals and four assists.

Bloomfield returns to the hardwood for another CACC challenge on Wednesday, January 15. This time they take to the road to face Nyack College with a 5:30 pm scheduled tip-off time.
