BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The Bloomfield College men's basketball team extended their winning streak to four games with an 89-56 victory over Holy Family University Saturday afternoon. The visiting Tigers dropped to 5-12 overall with the setback and 2-6 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play while the Bears improved to 10-8 on the year and 7-4 in league games.

The home team lead from start to finish as Tariq McKenith (Newark, NJ) buried the first jumper of the game on an assist from senior, Dontay Julius (Linden, NJ). Bloomfield never looked back and ran into the halftime break, up 46-24 and held the Tigers to just 11 field goals in the opening half. The CACC Player of the Week, Safee Abdus-Sabur (Newark, NJ) poured in 15 first half points followed by junior transfer, Darin Bellinger (Stroudsburg, PA) who netted 9 points at the break.

The 2nd half was more of the same with Bloomfield putting up 43 points in the frame to Holy Family's 32 and the home team secured their third-straight league win at home. McKenith finished the day with 13 points, 9 of which came in the final half while Abdus-Sabur topped all scorers with 24 points on a modest 9-of-15 shooting from the field which included 4-of-9 from downtown. The CACC Defensive Player of the Week, Matt Lajeunesse (Union, NJ) snagged a game-high 9 rebounds to go along with 6 points and a block.

The Bears now set their sights on January 25th when they travel to The City of Brotherly Love to face-off with their CACC South Division nemesis, Jefferson University. The showdown with the nationally ranked Rams (#24) is set for a 4:00 pm start on Hall-of-Famer, Herb Magee Court.
