BOWIE, MD - Fresh off of their Holiday Break, the women's basketball team hit the road for the final non-conference match of the season and suffered a 96-65 setback at the hands of Bowie State University. The Bulldogs, ranked #23 in the nation, improved their perfect record to 12-0 on the year while the Bears fell to 4-9 after Thursday afternoon's contest.

Bowie State led the game from start to finish and charge out of the gate with a 24-0 run. Bloomfield's offensive attack was led by freshman, Kayla Sykes ( Egg Harbor TWP, NJ) who netted 8 points across the opening two quarters of play. The visitors went into the halftime break shooting only 33.3 percent from the field (7-of21) and found themselves down, 57-23 at intermission.

Sykes finished the day with a team and career-high 14 points, knocking down 2-of-3 from beyond three-point range.
