BLOOMFIELD, NJ - Athletic Director, Sheila Wooten announced 24 student-athletes were inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society from Bloomfield College. "Congratulations to the 2020 inductees," Mrs. Wooten commented on Friday. "This is a testament of their commitment to excellence in the classroom and how that translates to academic success."
Bloomfield's 2020 Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society inductees are:
Benjamin Basten, Jaylah Bennett, Chisom Chinedu, Nwaneka Chinedu, Tochi Chinedu, Anthony Elefante, Alexis Freudenberg, Jarline Garcia, Da' John Graves, Quinn Hodson, Jayden Jacobs, Alyse Jefferson, Jerae Keli'ikoa, Marc Lugo, Tariq McKenith, William Moore, Ivana Negron, Natalya Porcello, Danielle Quintanar, Emily Quiroz, Tamecia Ransom, Ashley Stroot, Jazmine Wiggs and Imani Young.
In order to be inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society, a student-athlete must carry a 3.50 or greater cumulative GPA and be of junior academic status at the beginning of their fifth semester.
Chi Alpha Sigma's purpose is to: encourage and reward high academic scholarship of college athletes at four-year accredited colleges and universities; to recognize outstanding academic achievement by intercollegiate varsity letter winners; to encourage good citizenship, moral character, and friendship among the high academic achievers in college athletics, to recognize and honor the individual athlete, his/her team, sport, athletic department, and college or university; and to mentor and to provide leadership to other athletes.
