BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The Bloomfield College men's basketball team evened up their record and stopped a three-game slide with a, 76-72 upset over regionally ranked Dominican College Thursday evening. The Bears home victory in The Den improved their overall record to an even 3-3 mark and 3-3 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play as the league moved past the midway point of its 10-game season. The East Region's 2nd ranked team Chargers also evened their record as well but at 2-2 overall and 2-2 in conference matches.
The two teams battled back and forth the entire match with Bloomfield pulling in front by 8 in the first half but the visitors charged back to go up by 7 points in the second half. Senior forward,
Rich Chapman (Newark, NJ) came off the bench and played motivated, going a perfect 4-for-4 from three-point range to lead the home team in scoring with 18 total points. Sophomore,
Abdallah Elsaleh (North Bergen, NJ) had a solid day at the office, netting 16 points and team-highs in assists (8) and rebounds (8). Freshman
Andres Fulgencio (Teaneck. NJ) made the most of his first collegiate start and poured in 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field while veteran point guard,
Tariq McKenith (Newark, NJ) chipped in 12 points and shot 50.0 percent from the field (6-of-12).
The Bears will enjoy a few days off for their Valentine's weekend as their showdown with Georgian Court University was postponed to Sunday, Feb. 21st at 12:00 pm. Bloomfield will return to action on Tuesday against Felician University in The Den. The Golden Falcons travel for a 6:00 pm tip-off as the Bears look to avenge last week's, 76-67 setback.
