LAKEWOOD, NJ - The Bears women's basketball team traveled to the Wellness Center at Georgian Court University (GCU) Saturday and suffered a, 66-59 setback in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action. The regionally ranked Lions kept their perfect season intact, improving to 7-0 overall and in league play while Bloomfield dropped to 2-3 on the season with a 2-3 conference mark.

Dashanique Ruffin (Paterson, NJ) had a stellar day, matching her season-high point output with twenty-six on 12-of-21 shooting from the floor. The redshirt sophomore came close to a double-double, grabbing a team-high 9 rebounds while junior Morenike Akinrefon (New Brunswick, NJ) had her best day in a Bloomfield uniform. The transfer guard recorded 10 points on 5-of-9 shooting and dished out 2 assists and snared 1 steal. The tandem of Ruffin and Akinrefon were the only two Bears in double-digit scoring for the road team and helped their squad to a 49-46 advantage after three quarters but GCU used a, 20-10 push in the final frame to keep their unbeaten streak alive.

Next on the Bloomfield schedule will be Felician University on Tuesday, Feb. 16th. The Bears head out on the road again and are set to battle the Golden Falcons at 5:00 pm in Job Arena.
