ORANGEBURG, NY - The women's basketball team set out on the road for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match with Dominican College and suffered an, 86-50 loss at the Hennessy Center. The Saturday afternoon contest left the Bears with an even, 2-2 record overall and in conference play while Dominican College improved to 2-1 on the year with a perfect 2-0 mark in league games.
The visitors fell behind in the first quarter, 26-11, watching the Chargers shoot 56.3 percent (9-of-16) from the field and were never able to recover the rest of the way. Redshirt sophomore, Dashanique Ruffin (Paterson, NJ) played a strong game inside forcing the home team to send her to the line 12 times where she sank 9 free throws as part of her 13 total points. Myasia Jackson (Trenton, NJ) finished the day with 11 points to go along with a team-high 8 boards and Bloomfield only had two players reach double-digit scoring.
The Bears will have a week off to fine tune their offense before returning to the court next Saturday, Feb. 13th for another CACC showdown. This time they will face red-hot Georgian Court University Lions who are off to a perfect 3-0 start and welcome Bloomfield for a 12:00 pm tip-off in Lakewood.
