DOBBS FERRY, NY - The Bloomfield College baseball team took to the field on Thursday afternoon for a non-conference single game against Mercy College and suffered a, 3-0 setback. The road loss left the Bears with a 0-1 record to start the 2021 campaign while the Mavericks improved to 1-0 after their first game of the year.
The road team saw hits fromÂ
Christopher Morillo (Teaneck, NJ),
Elvis Lopez (Randolph, NJ) and
Justin Sanchez (Kearny, NJ) but that was all they could muster in a shutout against the Mercy pitching staff. Bloomfield sent senior
Christian Camilo (Lyndthurst, NJ) to the mound for the opening day start and the Criminal Justice major went four innings, giving up two runs, one earned on four hits in the loss.Â
Bloomfield will take off a few days before hitting the field again, this time against Molloy College on Wednesday March 17th. The non-conference road game is scheduled for a 3:30 pm first pitch.
