BLOOMFIELD, NJ -
Marc Lugo '21, a Bloomfield student athlete majoring in education with a concentration in history, won the prize for Best Non-Member Project at the 2021 Georgia Regional Conference of Phi Alpha Theta. The meeting was hosted by its chapter at Georgia Southern University on March 5-7, 2021.
Marc won the prize for his History Capstone project entitled "Religious, Nationalist, and Americentric Bias in United States History Textbooks."
Phi Alpha Theta is an academic honor society for undergraduate and graduate students and professors of history whose mission is to promote the study of history through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication and the exchange of learning and ideas among historians.
Lugo is a former cross country and track & field student-athlete at Bloomfield College.
