BLOOMFIELD WELCOMES MARC LUGO AS ITS NEW ASSISTANT CROSS COUNTRY COACH

BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The Bloomfield College Department of Athletics is proud to welcome Marc Lugo as the new Assistant Coach of the Men's & Women's Cross-Country teams.
  
Dean of Students and Director of Athletics, Sheila Wooten, says "Marc is excited for this opportunity and with his experience as an alumni and previous member of the club he will be an asset on and off the course." 
 
Lugo arrives after graduating in 2021 with a degree in Education with a concentration in history. He is currently teaching Elementary Education in Norwood, NJ.
 
His culmination of accolades as a student-athlete at Bloomfield College include three Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference All-CACC awards in XC (2016, 2018, 2019). He was also part of the men's outdoor track and field team that won the CACC Championship in 2018, competing in the 5K and 10K races.

Lugo was the age-group winner of the 2021 Naked Nick 50K Trail Ultra-Marathon and he was also winner of the Gettysburg North-South Marathon in 2021.
  
The Rochelle Park, NJ native also placed 2nd in the 2021 Race to the Top of Vermont Mountain Run. That same year he won the NYC Big Apple Half marathon. His latest event being The Boston Marathon where he placed 295th out of 22,000 in a time of 2 hours, 36 minutes, and 2 seconds.
