BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bears men's basketball team traveled to the George R. Newman Center Tuesday evening and picked up a, 97-84 win over Caldwell University. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) battle for Bloomfield Ave improved Bloomfield's record to 4-11 on the year and 2-4 in league play. The home team fell to 6-8 for the season and 2-5 in conference match-ups. 
 
The visiting team came out red hot in the first half, scorching the basket at a, 54.5 percent clip, going 18-for-33 from the floor. Bloomfield snatched 7 steals and forced 9 Cougar turnovers to claim a 45-37 advantage on the scoreboard at halftime. Andres Fulgencio (Teaneck, NJ) tickled the nets for 21 points in the opening stanza of play as Caldwell couldn't find a way to stop the freshman guard.
 
 The Cougars clawed to within four points, 70-66 with under ten minutes left in the 2^ndhalf but the Bears offense exploded for a 17-6 spurt across five minutes, capped by a Fulgencio 3-pointer that put the game out of reach. 
 
Fulgencio finished the night with a career-high, 36 points on 13-for-18 shooting from the floor, 4-of-7 from three-point range and a perfect 6-for-6 from the freethrow line. Tyrek Battle-Holley (Jersey City, NJ) and Isaiah Sparks (Ewing, NJ) had solid performances for the visiting team, registering 16 and 15 points respectively. Josh Morris (Ewing, NJ) rounded out the Bears top point-getters with 14 poits on 5-of-10 shooting from the field.

Bloomfield continues their CACC road trip on Thursday with a battle against USciences in Philadelphia. The conference contest against the Devils is set for a 7:30 pm tip-off. Due to the recent increase in COVID-19 cases, games are subject to postponements with very little notice.
