BLOOMFIELD, NJ– The Bloomfield College women's basketball team traveled up the road to face Caldwell University Tuesday evening and dropped a, 62-43 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest. The league setback moved the Bears to 2-13 overall and 0-7 in conference games while the Cougars improved to 10-5 on the year with a 5-1 CACC mark.
The home team jumped out of the gate with a 21-10 first quarter as Bloomfield searched to find their offense in the game's opening period. The visitors clawed back into the game with a 15-9 2
ndquarter and went into the halftime break trailing by only five (30-25).
Caldwell came out for the third period on fire and used a 16-3 run to seize command of the CACC North Division battle. The Bloomfield offense couldn't find the firepower to make a run and the team suffered their 8
thstraight loss.
DaShanique Ruffin(Paterson, NJ) led with a team-high 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the field and was the Bears lone double-digit scorer.
Daniya Darby (Jersey City, NJ) added 9 points in 26 minutes of play and grabbed a team-high 7 boards.
The Bears will hit the road for another CACC contest on Thursday when they square-off with USciences in Philadelphia. The league contest against the Devils is set for a 5:30 pm start.
