BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bears men's basketball team squared off with Adelphi University Monday evening for their first action of 2022 and suffered an, 88-62 setback in The Den. The non-conference loss left Bloomfield with a, 2-9 overall record while the Panthers improved to 7-4 for the year after the road win.
The Bears' offense struggled in the first half, netting only nine field goals (9-of-29) for 27 points and the visiting team capitalized with a 48.5 percent shooting percentage to go ahead 39-27 at the break.
Tyrek Battle-Holley (Jersey City, NJ), coming off a career-day with 37 points and being named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week, led the home team with 11 points at halftime.

nd half,
Andres Fulgencio (Teaneck, NJ), who was named the CACC Rookie of the Week, poured in all of his 11 points and grabbed 6 rebounds for Bloomfield.
Josh Morris (Ewing, NJ), who also had a career day in his last outing, led all Bears in scoring, finishing with 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the field.
Bloomfield climbed to within seven (52-45) with 14:50 on the clock but never really challenged the Panthers down the stretch and fell below their season scoring average of 69.7 points per game.
The Bears, will now focus on CACC play as they prepare for a Saturday afternoon battle with Georgian Court University. The tip-off in Lakewood is scheduled for 2:00 pm at the GCU Wellness Center.
