BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bears (1-5-4, 0-4-2 CACC) women's soccer team after 90 minutes of play on Sunday ended their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match with Wilmington University in a scoreless draw. The scoreless decision at Foley Field was Bloomfield's second consecutive at home and the third consecutive tie at the historic location.
The Wildcats controlled the action in the first half and put up six shots in the period to Bloomfield's two but the home team evening out the shooting in the 2
nd period, 4-4 and even held a 4-3 advantage in shots on goal for the game.
Junior keeper,
Mia Phillip (Bridgewater, NJ) recorded three saves in goal and played all 90 minutes for the Bears. Senior midfielder, Savanna Smith (North Arlington, NJ) paced the offensive attack with four shots, two of them on target.
Bloomfield will hit the road for its' next four contests beginning with a CACC thriller on Wednesday, October 5
thagainst The University of Bridgeport. The Purple Knights host the Bears for the first time since joining the conference this year and have set a 6:00 pm start time.
