CALDWELL, NJ - The Bloomfield College men's basketball team saw five players reach double-figures on Monday night but it was not enough as visiting, Bowie State claimed an 85-81 victory. The home opening, non-conference battle between the Bears (2-3) and the Bulldogs (2-3) was moved to Mark Corino Court at Caldwell University for facility maintenance reasons.
Andres Fulgencio (Englewood, NJ) led the Bloomfield offensive attack with 17 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field including 5-of-9 from long range.
Tyrek Battle-Holley (Jersey City, NJ) and
Marcus Bucknall (Thessaloniki, Greece) poured in 16 and 14 points respectively while
Izaiah Poole
(Newark, NJ) and
Josh Morris (Ewing, NJ) had a modest 12 and 10 point performance. The visitors shot 55-percent from three-point range (11-of-20) and surged ahead in the 2
nd half to claim the road win.
The Bears will rest up for the holiday break and return to action on Wednesday, November 30
th against Alliance University. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opener against the Warriors is slated for an 8:30 pm start.
