BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The Bloomfield College men's basketball team dropped a, 78-71 non-conference decision to Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) Monday afternoon. The battle in The Den left the Bears even on the year at, 5-5 while the Owls improved to 7-4 after the win.
Bloomfield only shot 38.1 percent from the field for the game while SCSU hit buckets at a 48.3 percent clip. The visitors held a slight 36-33 advantage at intermission and kept the Bears at bay down the stretch of the 2
nd half.
Tyrek Battle-Holley (Jersey City, NJ) went 5-for-9 from the field to lead the home team in scoring with 15 points. Starters,
Andres Fulgencio (Englewood, NJ) and
Izaiah Poole (Newark, NJ) netted 14 points and 11 points respectively.
Deavion Ellis (North Bergen, NJ) came off the bench to chip in 11 points, shooting 3-for-6 from the field. while netted 14 points to round off Bloomfield's top scorers.
Bloomfield will hit the road for their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opener on Thursday, December 29 when they take on defending CACC Champion, FelIcian University. The Golden Falcons host the Bears at 8:00 pm at the Job Gymnasium.
