BRIDGEPORT, CONN – Saja Alston (Newark, NJ ) scored a game-high, 22 points but the Bears women's basketball team dropped their fifth consecutive game Saturday afternoon when the travelled to The University of Bridgeport. Bloomfield (1-7, 0-2 CACC) suffered a 73-64 setback to the Purple Knights (4-4, 1-1 CACC) in their 2
nd Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match of the season.
The junior transfer, Alston saw her best game in a Bear uniform as she shot, 6-for-15 from the floor and did most of her damage at the freethrow line going 8-of-11 from the stripe.
Jasmine McDuffie (Paterson, NJ) added in 19 points to the Bloomfield effort but Bridgeport built an 18-point lead by intermission and the visitors could not overcome that deficit.
The Bears will hibernate for about two weeks before their next contest on Friday, December 16. The Spartans from Saint Thomas Aquinas College enter The Den for a non-conference battle with that is set for a 5:30 pm start.
