BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bears women's basketball team dropped their ninth consecutive game on Saturday in a, 60-50 battle with Chestnut Hill. The New Year's Eve Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match-up left Bloomfield with a 1-11 overall record and a 0-4 mark in league games.
The Bears opened up with the game's first six points but the Griffins (6-6, 1-2 CACC) answered with 16-straight points to take command of the 1
stquarter.
Morenike Akinrefon (New Brunswick, NJ) registered her first double-double of the season with a 15 point and 11 rebound performance but the home team went into the half down, 29-28. Chestnut Hill used a balanced attack over the final two quarters to secure the road win.
Jasmine McDuffie (Paterson, NJ) chipped in 11 points while
Anisha Able (Newark, NJ) registered a career-high four blocks.
Bloomfield will begin the New Year with a home contest on January 4, 2023 when they host Post University. The Eagles swoop into town for a 5:30 PM CACC tip-off.
