DEMARY SHINES AS CACC ANNOUNCES 2022 ALL-ACADEMIC CROSS COUNTRY TEAM

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Forty (40) student-athletes on Thursday were named to the 2022 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Cross Country All-Academic Teams, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. Nine CACC schools that compete in the sport were represented on the All-Academic Team.

To be eligible for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must: a) Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of immediate preceding term (may include summer for fall sport participants); b) Minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) Student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution.

Autumn DeMary is a two-time honoree for the Bears and carries a 3.94 cumulative grade point average while studying Graphic Design in the Creative Arts & Technology Division.
 
Thomas Jefferson University led the way with four honorees on the men's team, while Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College and Wilmington University had three harriers, apiece, on the squad.

NOTES ON WOMEN'S ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
  • Four student-athletes posted perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point averages, including a trio from HFU (Kaitlyn Durning, Amber Fisgaer & Ashley Fisgaer) and Caldwell University's Ana Gonzalez Martin.
  • Seven student-athletes notched GPAs of 3.90 or higher.
  • Wilmington's Alexa Crowell was named to the team for the fourth time in her career.
  • Four student-athletes were named to the CACC Women's Cross Country All-Academic Team for the third time in their respective careers (Chestnut Hill College's Lily Short, Felician University's Ashley Linares, HFU's Shania LeMaitre and Jefferson's Kyleigh Percy).
  • Six were named to the unit for the second time in their respective careers.
