BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bloomfield College men's basketball team were knocked off at home by the Warriors of Nyack College, 92-84 Wednesday night. The loss marked the third consecutive Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) setback and moved the Bears overall record to 9-17 for the year. More importantly, Bloomfield fell to 7-9 in league play and were eliminated from post-season play for the first time in fifteen years. Nyack improved to 11-12 overall and 8-8 in conference action, locking up their first conference tournament appearance since the 2005-2006 season.
Tyrek Battle-Holley (Jersey City, NJ) led the home team's offensive attack, netting a team-high 23 points on 7-for-15 shooting from the field. The CACC Rookie of the Week,
Andres Fulgencio (Teaneck, NJ) poured in 17 points on a 50.0 percent shooting night from the field, going 6-of-12 which included 4-of-8 from three-point range.
Josh Morris (Ewing, NJ) had a solid 15 points night, going 7-of-14 from the floor.
Isaiah Sparks (Ewing, NJ) rounded out the Bears top scorers as he recorded 12 points, going a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line.
Next up Caldwell University comes to town on Saturday, February 26 for Senior Day at 3:00 pm. Bloomfield will honor the men's basketball program's two seniors just before the start of the final game of the season against the Cougars.
