BLOOMFIELD, N.J. – The Bears men's soccer team came back to secure a, 1-1 tie Wednesday evening against Dominican University at historic Foley Field. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match-up under the lights left Bloomfield with a 1-2-2 overall record and 1-0-1 mark in league play.
The visiting Chargers (1-2-3, 0-1-1 CACC) got on the board first after both teams played to a scoreless tie in the opening half. Dominican took advantage of a Bears foul inside the box which resulted in a penalty kick at the 65:59 minute-mark. Junior keeper,
Jomar Vizcaino (New Bruinswick, NJ) had a solid night in goal, picking up 2 saves as the home team's defense kept the Chargers opportunities low for most of the contest.
Desperately seeking the equalizer, Bloomfield found the back of the net on a header from
Raynaldo StBernard (London, England) off a set piece delivered by Marvin Munoz (Neptune, NJ). The goal was St. Bernard's first of his collegiate career.
Next up for Bloomfield will be another CACC battle on Saturday, September 17 when they travel to face Jefferson. The Rams roll out the welcome mat for a 2:30 pm kickoff in Philadelphia.
