BLOOMFIELD, N.J. – The Molloy University men's soccer team came to visit Wednesday night at Foley Field and battled to a scoreless draw with the Bears. Molloy moved their record to 4-2-5 on the season, while Bloomfield moved to 1-5-3 after the decision.
The home team saw redshirt-freshman,
Matthew Brun (Kearny, NJ) who got the start in goal for the non-conference battle, record his second shutout of the season. The Bloomfield keeper stopped six shots in 90 minutes of play to register the clean sheet. The Bears offense held a 13-10 shooting advantage for the match, with a 7-6 lead in shots on goal but still couldn't find the back of the net as the home team has score goals in just two of their nine matches this season.
Bloomfield will try to jumpstart their offense in their next contest when they hit the road for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) battle against visiting Wilmington University. The Saturday afternoon match with the Wildcats is slated for a 2:00 pm start in Delaware.
