WEST HAVEN, Conn. – In the second outing of the 2022 season Bloomfield battled to a draw after 90 minutes of play with the University of New Haven on Monday. Junior keeper, Mia Phillip (Bridgewater, NJ) along with her back line kept the Chargers off the score sheet and moved the Bears record to 0-1-1 for the year after the tie at Kathy Zolad Stadium. The tie marks the first positive result for a Bloomfield women's soccer team against a Northeast-10 opponent since becoming an NCAA Division II program in 2004.

New Haven (2-1-2) controlled the tempo throughout the game, leading the visiting team, 16-5 in shots, with seven of those attempts resulting in a Phillips' save. The Bears keeper has recorded 15 stops for the season so far. Junior midfielder, Valentina Beltran (Bogota, Columbia) led Bloomfield with two shots as both of her attempts marked on goal. 

The Bears return home for a Thursday morning showdown with Lincoln University (Pa.) slated for 11:30 am. Bloomfield look for their first action on historic, Foley Field when the Lions pay them a visit for a non-conference thriller.
