Tucker's Drops 20 But The Bears Fall at College of Staten Island, 70-58

STATEN ISLAND, NY – Taneshia Tucker dropped 20 points in the Bears Thanksgiving Weekend finale but it was not enough as the College of Staten Island took a, 70-58 win in non-conference play on Sunday. The Dolphins led the entire game and improved their season record to 3-2 while Bloomfield lost their third straight game and moved to 1-4 overall on the year. 

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
    ·      Taneshia Tucker 20 points (6-16 FG, 4-11 3PT & 4-5 FT), 7 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal
    ·      Daniya Darby came off the bench to score 12 points (6-9 FG, 1-2 FT), 5 steals, 3 rebounds and 2 assists
    ·      Anisha Able snatched a game-high 10 rebounds to go along with 6 points (3-11 FG) 1 assist, 1 steal and a block
KEY MOMENTS
    ·      The Dolphins used a 21-9 first quarter to take control of the game and never relinquished their stronghold in the contest. Bloomfield went down 36-21 at halftime getting as close as thirteen after a Tucker bucket in the paint. 
    ·      The Bears closed the gap slightly in the third period when they posted 19 points to CSI's 18 but the Dolphins kept their lead in double-digits heading into the final quarter.
    ·      A Tucker 3-pointer with 44 seconds remaining pulled the visitors to within their closest margin of nine (67-58) but it was too little too late and the Dolphins closed out the non-conference battle for the win. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
    ·      Tiara Mahorn chipped in 7 points (3-9 FG, 1-2 FT) off the bench and added 7 rebounds to match 
    ·      Bloomfield held a slight rebounding edge at 38-34 which included a 16-13 advantage on the offensive glass. The visitors also led, 24-7 in bench points due in part to the play of Darby and Mahorn.
    ·      The Dolphins led for 99.3 percent of the game which equated to 39:44 minutes and had an, 18-8 edge in fastbreak points.
  
WHAT'S NEXT
    ·      The Bears take some time much needed off before they are back in action on Saturday, Dec 2 (1:00 p.m.) against Felician University. The Golden Falcons swoop into The Den for Bloomfield's first taste of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action this season. 
    ·      The next road contest for Bloomfield will be Wednesday, Dec 6 (7:00 p.m.) when they challenge NCAA Div I opponent, Fairleigh Dickinson University at the Stratis Arena inside the Rothman Center.
